Dubai-based Nigerian social media movie star, Ismailia Mustapha, popularly often known as Mompha, has been re-arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Lagos state command, barely 3 days after he arrived Nigeria for business.
According to studies, he was re-arrested for allegedly laundering funds obtained by illegal actions and retention of alleged proceeds of crime.
Prior to his re-arrest on Monday, tenth January 2022, the Dubai-based socialite was standing trial alongside his firm, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on crimes bordering on cyber fraud and cash laundering to the tune of N32.9 billion.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed his re-arrest in a press release, titled, ‘EFCC re-arrests Mompha for alleged cash laundering‘, mentioned:
“The account of one in every of his corporations, Ismalob Global Investment Limited Bank, a Bureau de Change firm, domiciled in Zenith Bank Plc, was allegedly used to launder funds derived from illegal actions.
“Investigation has revealed a fraudulent transfer slip of $92,412,75 found in the suspect’s iPhone 8 device. He will soon be charged to court.”
