The Nigerian Army has disclosed causes for the arrest of the female soldier who was proposed to by a male corps member in NYSC orientation camp, Yikpata, Kwara State.
According to the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, whereas talking to Punch Newspaper acknowledged that the girl went in opposition to the army legal guidelines by involving herself in a public show of amorous relationship with a paramilitary trainee, a corps member.
He added that the female soldier’s motion might be likened to profiting from her trainee which is strictly in opposition to the code of conduct. Nwachukwu, whereas driving his level residence acknowledged that the army would have been accused of coercion had it been a male soldier proposed to a female corper on a parade floor.
He additionally pressured that the girl isn’t certified for marriage but as she hasn’t served for the stipulated interval of three years.

“5. Her conduct was prejudicial to good order and army self-discipline.
“All the above, if proven are in violation of extant laws with attendant disciplinary and penal implications.”
Nwachukwu nonetheless refused to trace on the form of punishment that might be meted out on the female soldier as a result of her motion.
