Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministry says all Christians who fail to pay tithes (10 % of all their incomes) to the church are criminals.
He additionally careworn that the offence is punishable and attracts curses.
Ibiyeomie disclosed this whereas speaking on the church’s service in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
In his phrases: “Tax is the federal government’s share, so you don’t say I need to give the federal government my tax, you say you need to pay tax, that is how tithe is God’s personal. Leviticus 27:30. God is the proprietor of the tithe. So, what do you do?
“You pay, it’s solely in Nigeria you don’t pay tax and so they can depart you, within the Western world it is a massive criminal offence, if you don’t pay tithe, you are a criminal, your offence is punishable, tithe is merely one-tenth of your revenue, 10 per cent of your revenue goes to God.
“Near success syndrome won’t occur. If you’re experiencing close to success syndrome don’t go for deliverance, you’re not a tither. Anything that I do, when it is near manifestation, the factor will simply go off, you’re not a devoted tither.
“Many deliverance ministries, they simply go for deliverance, this is the issue, they don’t pay tithe faithfully. Yet, they’ll say something I need to do, when it is about to click on it should simply go off.
“It is near success syndrome. Correct it from tithing, don’t correct it from seven days deliverance. Hear this, tithe must be paid first otherwise the curse will remain.”
His stance comes within the wake of heavy criticism meted out on Pastors following their extravagant existence.
Some of them have non-public jets, posh automobiles and are reportedly residing giant on the expense of their poor congregation.
